Visitors to LogiMAT, the trade fair for intralogistics solutions and process management, can experience individual robot solutions for labelling and semi-automatic pallet labelling on the rotary table at Booth F21 in Hall 6 of the labelling experts from Logopak (https://www.logopak.com).

Robotic labelling solutions from Logopak: Flexible, individual and safe

Robots have been an integral part of industrial production for years. In labelling operations, the use of robot solutions can make labelling more flexible. The flexible Logopak labelling system can meet the requirement for placing any number of labels at any position on the product, even with different label formats. Another plus: The required flexibility in the number and position of labels on the product can be provided in some cases faster than conventional solutions.

Logopak develops individualised, combinable, safe robot solutions

The programmed sequence can be flexibly adapted to changing requirements. A change of label format can also be quickly adapted. This assures the success of solutions from Logopak in the long term.
Occupational safety is guaranteed through collaborative robot technology. When the robot is approached, its speed of movement is automatically slowed down – until it stops completely at a specific distance. Visitors to the LogiMAT 2019 trade fair can see this for themselves at the Logopak Booth F21 in Hall 6 where the robot solution will be presented and demonstrated in action for the first time.

Transport labelling from Logopak: Semi-automatic pallet labelling on the rotary table

Fully-automatic labelling solutions have been around for the past 40 years. They are used successfully at large industrial and trading companies mainly. To enable smaller companies to also benefit from the advantages of automation, Logopak’s labelling specialists have now developed a semi-automatic solution for pallet labelling.

Here the pallets are transported by forklift truck to a semi-automatic pallet wrapping station where the labelling process is fully automatic. At LogiMAT 2019, this innovative pallet labelling system, which is fully integrated in a semi-automatic pallet wrapper, will be presented to the trade public for the first time by the Logopak labelling experts at Booth F21 in Hall 6.

For unique identification and traceability, each pallet requires a unique eighteen-digit Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC). The code is used for seamless shipment tracking, thus enabling a clear stock level, for example, as well as the simple exchange of faulty batches for products that have already been shipped. Producers and dealers, therefore, increasingly require transport labelling with a unique Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) for each individual pallet. That“s why automated transport labelling with Serial Shipping Container Codes (SSCCs) is also of great value for smaller production lines.

At LogiMAT 2019, Logopak’s labelling experts will present this innovative semi-automatic pallet labelling system on Booth F21 in Hall 6. This innovative combination of a semi-automatic pallet stretcher/film wrapper and a fully-automatic pallet labeller completes the film wrapping first, followed by labelling.

As with all fully-automatic Logopak labellers, the system can be linked bidirectionally to an ERP system so that article master data and production planning can be called up on a daily basis. This means that data is maintained centrally on the master data source, which ensures that only the current and relevant data is printed and applied to the pallet.

This innovative and flexible solution can be used for picked goods, partial pallets, full pallets, mixed pallets and many other requirements.

The integrated sensors and program selection of the film winder send the print and application signals to the automatic labellers. The labels are applied fully automatically – and an integrated scanner for barcode checking can be fitted on request.

Occupational safety – as with all Logopak solutions – is guaranteed: The pallet is not rotated until the arm of the labelling system has returned to its initial position. During pallet rotation, the next label is printed in order to apply another label without slowing the work flow.

The finished, labelled pallet can be visually or acoustically signalled to the operator via the Human Machine Interface (HMI) and a signal lamp. The finished, foil-wrapped and labelled pallet can then be moved from the rotary table with the lift truck or forklift truck.

The intuitive operation of Logopak systems and solutions also makes them suitable for smaller companies that do not yet have extensive experience in the automation of shipping and labelling.

3tn and GIPA under one roof

Harmonization between 3tn’s TWMS/metals warehouse management systems and the underlying basic

3tn, providers of the TWMS/metals warehouse management system, have taken over GIPA – Gesellschaft für Industrie- und Prozessautomation mbH. As from May 29, 2017, GIPA has been operating as a subsidiary of 3tn. With this transaction, the two companies have consolidated their long-standing partnership. Now they can offer efficient warehouse management solutions for the metals industry from a single source.

3tn and GIPA can look back on 18 years of successful cooperation. Numerous 3tn TWMS/metals projects in the steel industry implemented with crane automation systems from GIPA at any automation level testify to the long-standing partnership between the two companies.

On May 29, 3tn acquired all of the assets of GIPA mbH in order to further foster the successful relationship and be able in the future to offer innovative warehouse management systems complete with perfectly tailored automation solutions. GIPA will offer the same product and service portfolio as before and continue to serve customers separate from 3tn, for example as supplier of crane equipment for in the environment of nuclear power generation.

Thorsten Tönjes and Thomas Niepmann, the founders and managing directors of 3tn, will also be managing directors of GIPA. They will be supported by Wolfgang Hagedorn, who will continue to act as GIPA managing director and provide his technological know-how in order to ensure maximum continuity of business.

3tn customers will benefit from the new situation in various ways: TWMS/metals systems and the underlying basic automation will be even better harmonized, resulting in smoother interfaces, easier coordination during the project phase and a shorter supply chain.

Thorsten Tönjes sees great potential for both companies: „For our joint customers, this means that hardware and software will come from the same source. With both companies operating under the same roof, it will be easier for us to offer innovative and cost-efficient solutions and to join forces to bring forward developments in the field of intralogistics in the metals industry.“

As in the past, the customers may choose between buying 3tn warehouse management systems complete with all associated automation or sourcing the automation systems from a third party.

Die Metamorphose des Palettenregals

Bartels verwandelt Paletten- in Schubfachregal dank Etagen-Schubfach

(Horst, Juni 2013) Mit dem Etagen-Schubfach von Bartels wird das Palettenregal zum Verwandlungskünstler und im Handumdrehen zum Schubfachregal mit einseitigem Auszug. Dafür eignen sich alle marktgängigen Palettenregale. Mit der Veränderung steigen auch die Vorteile wie zum Beispiel ein bequemer Zugriff auf beziehungsweise in die Paletten oder Boxen. Auf Hubwagen oder Stapler kann komplett verzichtet werden. Besonderes Highlight ist die automatische Verriegelung. So kann immer nur ein Schubfach ausgezogen werden. Für mehr Sicherheit und weniger Schäden!

Eine durchweg gesunde Entscheidung: Ergonomische Arbeitspositionen reduzieren den Kraftaufwand. Akrobatische Verrenkungen gehören der Vergangenheit an. Geringe Gangbreiten sparen außerdem enorm viel Platz und die Auszugssperre garantiert obendrein ein Höchstmaß an Sicherheit. Das Etagen-Schubfach für  Palettenregale mit einseitigem Auszug ist in fünf Standardfarben sowie auf Wunsch und gegen einen entsprechenden Aufpreis auch in Sonderfarben erhältlich. Es basiert auf einer soliden Stahlkonstruktion und verfügt außerdem über Kugellagerführungen. Das Befestigungsmaterial ist in der Lieferung inklusive. Darüber hinaus bietet Bartels viele Varianten des Etagen-Schubfachs an. So gibt es zum Beispiel auch Schubfächer, die – und das ist das Besondere – beidseitig ausziehbar sind.

„Für das optimale Regal müssen zwecks Abstimmung lediglich die Traversenhöhe sowie der Traversenabstand angegeben werden. Zudem sollte vorab geprüft werden, ob die Fronttraverse der höheren Traglast stand hält. Hier empfehlen wir, sich vor der Anschaffung der Etagen-Schubfächer mit dem Hersteller des jeweiligen Paletten-Regals in Verbindung zu setzen“, liefert Stephan Varnhorn, Teamleitung Verkauf und Marketing bei Bartels, wichtige Hinweise zur Inbetriebnahme.

Als Novum ist optional eine Verriegelung möglich. Diese bietet sich aus Sicherheitsgründen dann an, wenn mehrere Schubfächer in einem Fach eingesetzt werden. Die Verriegelung gewährleistet, dass bei dem Auszug eines Schubfachs das andere Schubfach beziehungsweise die anderen Schubfächer verriegelt werden und nicht ausgezogen werden können. Der Vorteil: Eine Überlastung der Fronttraverse wird dadurch verhindert.
