In einer offiziellen Einweihungsfeier mit 70 internationalen Gästen, wurde die von der Deutschen Bundesregierung geförderte zweite Generation der patentierten SINN Power Wellenenergie-Technologie erfolg-reich in Heraklion, Griechenland in Betrieb genommen.

SINN Power ist mit der neuen Generation der Wellenmodule nun eines der ersten Unternehmen, dem es gelungen ist geregelten und stabilisierten Strom aus der Kraft der Meere zu generieren.

In Rekordzeit konnte das Team rund um CEO Dr.-Ing. Philipp Sinn, die Erkenntnisse aus dem ersten Prototypen in die Entwicklung der zweiten Modulgeneration umsetzen.

Diesen Durchbruch in der Erzeugung von Strom aus Meereswellen, nahmen Partner und Unter-stützer von SINN Power zum Anlass, um ge-meinsam die Inbetriebnahme von zwei Prototy-pen dieser neuen Generation zu zelebrieren.

Mit agiler Entwicklung und einem neuen, simplen Konzept, erreichte SINN Power den Vorseri-enstatus mit einem finanziellen Aufwand von we-niger als 3 Mio. EUR in Rekordzeit – im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz, die seit mehr als 19 Jahren und In-vestitionen von je über 117 Mio. EUR erfolglos ver-suchte, einen vergleichbaren technischen Stand zu erreichen.

Mehr als zwei Jahre Entwicklungszeit für mecha-nische Komponenten und elektrische Verbindun-gen haben sich gelohnt. Die zweite Generation der Module funktioniert und produziert geregelten und verwertbaren Strom, welcher in das eigene Off-Grid System eingespeist wird – ein Meilen-stein und Durchbruch für SINN Power zugleich.

Mit der erfolgreichen Implementierung von Wel-lenenergie, ermöglicht SINN Power nun eine Lö-sung für eine dauerhafte Einspeisung und Strom-versorgung für Mini bzw. Off-Grid Systeme.
Ohne der Unterstützung von Investoren, den akademischen Institutionen und der guten Deutsch- Griechischen Kooperation, wäre dieser Durchbruch nicht möglich gewesen.

Dr.-Ing. Philipp Sinn, Gründer und CEO von SINN Power lobte vor allem die großartige Leis-tung des Teams: „Ein großes Dankeschön an das ganze Team für die konsequent professionelle und harte Arbeit! Was wir in den letzten Jahren auf die Beine stellen konnten, schaffen andere Firmen, wenn überhaupt, nur mit erheblich mehr Mitarbeitern und Budget.“

Durch eine Förderung des Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft und Energie (BMWi) und einer neuen Investition des Schweizer Kapital Global Impact Funds wird ermöglicht, dass das Projekt in Heraklion durch drei weitere Module ergänzt wird. Somit können Daten von verschiedene Pro-totypen gesammelt und unter verschiedenen Meeresbedingungen getestet werden.

Die Planungen für ein schwimmendes Kraftwerk, welches in den Jahren 2019/2020 entsteht, laufen bereits auf Hochtouren. Diese schwimmenden Wellenkraftwerke werden SINN Power und der Wellenenergie den Weg ebnen, um zukünftig einen wesentlichen Anteil am Portfolio der erneu-erbaren Energien beizusteuern. So ist es das langfristige Ziel, beispielsweise die ungenutzten Flächen innerhalb großer Offshore-Windparks zu nutzen, um in das öffentliche Stromnetz einzu-speisen.

Neben der langfristig ausgelegten Entwicklung der schwimmenden Wellenkraftwerke, ist SINN Power bereits heute im Kundenauftrag in der Umsetzung von Smart-Off-Grid-Systemen enga-giert, um komplexe Hybridprojekte auszulegen und umzusetzen. Zu der erworbenen Kernkom-petenz gehören neben der Wellenenergie auch Kleinwind, Solar PV und Speicherlösungen.
