Cartonplast Group invests in three service centre locations

Increasing Global Demand for Efficient and Sustainable Reusable Transport Packaging Solutions

Dietzenbach, Germany, 12 April 2019 – Cartonplast Group (CPL) is investing in three service centre locations: Dietzenbach (Headquarters), Germany – Essen, Germany – Figueira da Foz, Portugal.

After three years of construction at its headquarters in Dietzenbach, Germany, a milestone in the Company“s 34-year history was achieved with the construction of an ultra-modern service centre. The Reusable-Transport-Packaging-Specialist uses innovative cleaning technologies for plastic layer pads (PLPs) in the new service centre – which are used in 20 countries to transport glass, cans and PET containers to filling plants in the beverage, food, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. The approx. 3,000 square metre hall expands the existing work area for sorting, cleaning and reprocessing of the reusable PLPs it provides on a rental basis. CPL is setting new service level standards as a leading Transport-Packaging-Outsourcing-Expert for the container manufacturing industry, with a special focus on the responsible use of natural resources. The company operates 17 service centres worldwide, 15 of which are in Europe.

„In the former service centre at our headquarters in Dietzenbach, Germany, we had reached the service capacity limits for the container manufacturing industry“, said CEO Serkan Koray, who manages CPL together with Michael Heikenfeld and Thomas Krausch. „Our new state-of-the-art service centre for the reprocessing of plastic layer pads is a symbol of our continuous growth and a further milestone in the company’s history.“

At the CPL site in Essen, Germany, the focus was on the refurbishment of the external warehouse. Following a fire in August 2018, operations were relocated to other CPL locations. CPL made successful use of its European network and ensured the smooth supply of customers despite the short-term limited loss of capacity. Other regional CPL service centres in Germany and the Netherlands supplied the affected customers with PLPs for the transportation of containers. The service operation for processing PLPs at Essen has resumed and all customers serviced from this location are optimally looked after.

CPL Portugal (Poolplaca) service centre size 4,100 m2 – Expansion +2,100 m²
Growth story: The history of „Poolplaca Portuguesa de Plásticos“ began in 2001 in the Portuguese city of Figueira da Foz. After three years of working with 10 workers and one PLP cleaning line, the company decided to install a second wash line in response to the increasing market demand. This fast expansion was a result of environmental substitution of cardboard with PLP, combined with strong growth in production capacity within the Iberian container glass manufacturing sector.

In 2006 and 2011, due to the constant increase in customer demand, combined with increasing levels of quality requirements in the market, there was a programme of wash machine capacity increases, with each new machine bringing higher technology giving improved quality levels. The next stage for the company was the preparation process for ISO 9001: 2008 certification and later in 2014, ISO 22000 certification, which Poolplaca is now both certified for. „Today, after 18 years of continuous growth, it was necessary to physically expand our facilities, install a new Washing Line to further increase our wash capacity, whilst installing new technology, to continue improving our production process and increase the quality level of CPL’s Pool service“, says Jose Maria Carrasco, CEO of CPL Iberia.

As part of this continuous improvement trend, the new wash line that CPL Portugal (Poolplaca) has invested in, is the most sophisticated in-line technology in the CPL Group that includes automatic X-Ray inspection and rejection systems, which sits within the newly purpose-built production area to complete a 4.100 m2 service centre at Figueira da Foz.

In addition to the PLPs product range, CPL’s portfolio also includes reusable top frames and plastic pallets – especially for the glass container industry. The service spectrum ranges from integrated transport solutions to individual customer-specific services. Please find the complete service and product range of CPL in our explanation video under this link.

How VR influences the booking behaviour of travellers

How VR influences the booking behaviour of travellers

In recent years, accelerating technological innovations and digitalization have been affecting the tourism industry more than ever before. New technological means can help targeting customers directly and individually. In addition, Carola Epple now explains how Virtual Reality can change the booking behaviour of prospective customers. Her book Virtual Reality Tools in the Tourism Industry and their Influence on Booking Behaviour has been released at GRIN Publishing in December 2018.

In light of fierce competition and fast changing markets, travel firms have to make reasonable use of new technologies in order to succeed. Virtual Reality (VR) enables travellers to experience a destination in advance. How exactly does VR exposure affect the booking decision process? Does it increase the purchasing probability? In contrast to other research on this topic, „Virtual Reality Tools in the Tourism Industry“ analyses actual purchasing decisions from the perspective of travel sales agents instead of customers“ purchasing intentions in artificial laboratory situations.

New technologies and their influence on consumer behaviour

The current technological development considerably affects the way how tourism destinations and touristic products are perceived and how booking decisions take place. With the increasing differentiation of communication technologies and marketing channels, it becomes more and more important how travel companies can optimally allocate their marketing budgets. In that context, it is crucial to understand consumer decision processes, especially in the travel and hospitality sector. „Virtual Reality Tools in the Tourism Industry“ investigates consumer behaviour based on a structural model. Carola Epple offers handy guidelines for travel marketers how to best use VR for their purposes and supports managerial practice by indicating how the relevant constructs can be stimulated.

Made in Taiwan: improved medical outcomes – MEDICA 2018

The Taiwan External Trade Development Council – TAITRA – presents an elite group of 15 companies at this year’s MEDICA.

Made in Taiwan: improved medical outcomes - MEDICA 2018

Taiwan is a country founded on technology and the relentless drive for innovation. It benefits from the ambitions of its individual researchers, their institutes and companies and from the engagement and support from the Taiwan External Trade Development Council – TAITRA. At this year“s MEDICA, TAITRA presents an elite group of 15 companies – the recipients of TAITRA’s Taiwan Excellence awards – displaying technology to improve efficiency, process and, ultimately, outcomes to the world“s doctors, caregivers, and patients.

The world’s population is aging and becoming more connected. This fact is of utmost importance to Taiwan; its commercial sectors are focused on issues associated with a citizenry maturing in-step with the West. Rehabotics Medical Technology Corporation has just brought an exceptional aid to the market, MirrorHand, which enables robot-assisted rehabilitation of the hands after a stroke. Weighing only 750 grams, it is by far the lightest robotic rehabilitation device for the hand. The mirrored motion transferred from healthy to compromised hand and the programmable passive motion rehabilitation functions support neuromuscular regeneration.

Some unique technologies are just as beneficial at either end of life. The Opro9 Smart Diaper from Civicloud is an example. By offering a diaper with networked moisture monitoring, this technology is an excellent low-cost, multifunctional device. Whether in a NICs unit where renal function monitoring is a key aspect to positive outcomes, to an assisted living center where the care must remain efficient but responsive and flexible, this simple system can alert staff to needs of each patient and ensure an exceptional quality of care while offering valuable data-points into the EHR.

The ability for doctors to reach rapid, accurate conclusions is key to diagnosis and continued evaluation. Leltek Inc. offers this through a best-in-class cordless ultrasound subsystem. Of particular interest is their system’s bring-your-own-device compatibility, its ultra-light design at only 330 grams, and the exceptional battery life of three hours – overcoming the issues associated with previous cordless ultrasound solutions.

Another company featured through Taiwan Excellence, AmCad, leverages existing ultrasound diagnostic equipment to achieve the most cost-effective sleep apnea (OSA) diagnosis. As the understanding of the denigrating effects this condition plays in the general population becomes established, AmCad’s UO system delivers standardized ultrasound-head positioning and output data analysis to achieve an accurate diagnosis within 10 minutes on a fully awake patient, thereby eliminating the need for expensive overnight evaluation.

These Taiwan Excellence recipients and others organized by TAITRA will be presented during the MEDICA in Dusseldorf, Germany, from November 12th through the 15th in hall 17 Stand A61. All are interested in realizing opportunities for technological cooperation and business development with the global medical community. Hosts are on-hand and individual tours are available to meet your goals.

Founded in 1970 to help promote foreign trade, the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) is the foremost non-profit trade promotion organization in Taiwan. Jointly sponsored by the government, industry associations, and several commercial organizations, TAITRA assists Taiwan businesses and manufacturers with reinforcing their international competitiveness and in coping with the challenges they face in foreign markets.

TAITRA boasts a well-coordinated trade promotion and information network of over 1,300 trained specialists stationed throughout its Taipei headquarters, four local branch offices in Hsinchu, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung, and 60 overseas branch offices worldwide. Together with its sister organizations, Taiwan Trade Center (TTC) and Taipei World Trade Center (TWTC), TAITRA has created a wealth of trade opportunities through effective promotion strategies.

Moisture Analyzer Market estimated to reach worth 1.41 Billion USD by 2022

The moisture analyzer market is expected to grow from USD 1.15 Billion in 2016 to USD 1.41 Billion by 2022, at a CAGR of 3.3% between 2017 and 2022. The moisture analyzer market is mainly driven by factors such as increasing demand from traditional as well as new verticals and rapid adoption in Asia.

• Download PDF Brochure:-
https://www.marketsandmarkets.com/pdfdownload.asp?id=72110933

The moisture analyzer market is segmented on the basis of analyzing techniques, which include Karl Fischer titration, loss-on-drying, capacitance, microwave, drying oven, near infra-red, radio frequency and others. Among these techniques, the market for near-infrared (NIR) technique is expected to grow at the fastest rate between 2017 and 2022. This is mainly because NIR analyzers provide the opportunity to measure moisture content in the product during the manufacturing process. With the growing process automation in various industries, the demand for in-line moisture analysis is growing, and NIR analyzers are the best fit for the continuous analysis of moisture during the product manufacturing process.

The food and beverage vertical accounted for the largest share of the overall moisture analyzer market in 2016 and will grow fastest among others during the forecast period. This huge demand from the food and beverage vertical can be attributed to the stringent government regulations for maintaining the high quality of edible products by maintaining the moisture content in the product at the desired level. The pharmaceuticals vertical is expected to be the second-fastest market for moisture analyzers closely followed by water treatment and biomass vertical.

The moisture analyzer market has also been broadly classified on the basis of geography into the Americas, Europe, Asia Pacific (APAC), and Rest of the World (RoW). The APAC region will grow at the fastest rate during the forecast period. This is due to the ongoing industrial development, rising awareness about the benefits of process automation, environmental concerns, and government programs in the developing countries of APAC such as China and India to promote green initiatives that help in reducing pollution.

The stability and reliability issues of moisture analyzers inhibit the market growth. However, factors such as the growing process automation leading to the high demand for in-line moisture analyzers and technological advancements resulting in more reliable heat-based moisture analyzing can generate significant opportunities for this market.

Some key players in the moisture analyzer market are PCE Instruments (Germany), Michell Instruments Inc. (England), Ametek Inc. (US), SpectraSesnsors Inc. (US), General Electric Co. (US), A&D Co., Ltd. (Japan), Kett Electric Laboratory (Japan), Mettler-Toledo International Inc. (US), Sartorius AG (Germany), Shimadzu Corp. (Japan), Gow-Mac Instrument Co.
