Particularly weather-proof – GEZE contributes towards preventing climate change problems –

(pressebox) Leonberg, 20.01.2011 – Researchers predict even more extreme weather with vast fluctuations in temperatures in the future. In some countries, the difference in temperatures between summer and winter are already very large. In these instances, door closers mounted outside may suffer from fluctuations in performance and thus the door closer can no longer be able to ensure the required functionality. If the temperature fluctuates often throughout the course of a year, a door closer will need to be regularly adjusted. This is a very time consuming and costly process. The new TS 5000 T and TS 4000 T are fitted with an innovative thermostat valve which saves time and money and ensures that door are always set perfectly, even in a variable climate.

In contrast to thermo-stable valves the self-regulating thermostat valve can reduce the influence of temperature on the closing time by a fifth meaning that it remains almost constant. Thanks to the almost complete balancing of temperature fluctuations between -15°C and +40°C, there is no need for manual adjustment of the closing time. Thus, the effects of cold or heat are automatically compensated. Both new „T“-variants are identical in construction to the standard door closers TS 5000 and TS 4000 and have all additional functions. They afford no increased installation effort and no additional maintenance.
