(pressebox) Freudenstadt, 22.02.2011 – Just before the opening of the SNEC 2011 exhibition in Shanghai, China Mrs. Luo Fan as president of Xinjiang Puxing Chengda New Energy Technology Co. Ltd. and Christian Schmid as President of Schmid Silicon Technology GmbH and Gebr. Schmid GmbH + Co as well Jochem Hahn as COO of Schmid Silicon Technology GmbH were signing the final contract for a 3,000 t polysilicon factory and a strategic partnership agreement for an integrated factory for the production of solar cells and solar modules.
With this second contract within the last couple of months for a complete turnkey factory of polysilicon starting with TCS production, Schmid underlines its leading technology position in this market. In this project Schmid will use the optimized Monosilan Technology offering the lowest production costs and having the potential for further dramatic cost reductions over the next couple of years.
„This new production concept will bring the industry another step closer to grid parity and therefore allowing photovoltaic to become an indispensable part of the future worldwide energy mix“, Christian Schmid pointed out in his speech during the signing ceremony which took place under the presence of Mr. Jiao Mingqi, Secretary of the Party Committee, Political Commissar and chairman of National Progress Committee of Xinjiang Wujiaqu, Mr. Zhao Yuwen and Vice Chairman of China Renewable Energy Society.
