Treat trockene Augen with ortho-k lenses

Horgen, Switzerland, April 8, 2013 – For those with visual ailments, especially nearsightedness or Presbyopia, Vogt Optik brings new visual solutions in the form of ortho-k lenses and also offers visual aid training to improve eyesight.

Vogt Optik is a one stop shop with a highly qualified team who are experts for eyeglasses, contact lenses and vision therapy. The team consists of Daniel Vogt, who is the Manager and a specialist in Varilux glasses, Nicole Matthiessen who is a Certified optician SBAO and an expert at vision therapy and specialty contact lenses, and Marco Strobl along with Fabian Streuli who are both certified Optometrists.

“Today not everyone is comfortable wearing glasses and wearing ordinary lenses can result in trockene Augen or dryness of the eye, which causes irritation and leads to inflammation and eye infections. Correct your nearsightedness while you sleep, with our ortho-k lenses. These are a far more comfortable and invisible vision correction solution, with high spontaneous compatibility and comfortable wear. The new materials are optimal, and the tests we carried out show that these are perfect for adapting the lenses to your eyes to ensure a good and healthy vision. In other words, this is the perfect alternative to glasses”, stated Marco Strobl.

For those who are new to wearing lenses, Vogt Optik carries out a special exam that not only inspects and checks the vision, but also offers addition tips and techniques that aid in ease of use and optimal care of the new contact lenses. Additionally, they also carry out tests for these small transparent „visual aids“. Their new concept, Orthokeratology, is quite unique. This is a solution for temporary reduction or elimination of myopia by adapting the lenses in the eyes to these special contact lenses. These shaping lenses are worn overnight and removed during the day, allowing the user to see much better throughout the day without the need for additional contact lenses or glasses.

These lenses are the ideal treatment for myopia, and can reduce the problem by 60%-70% after using for just one night. Complete correction is seen after 3 – 5 nights and then the condition stays stable for about 1 month. This is a fully reversible and non-invasive method to treat myopia. “We control the lens fit, the response of the eye and the correction success. Since your myopia is eliminated only in part, we will give you, if necessary with soft daily lenses to bridge the remaining correction. Further checks are given every 6 months and these lenses must be replaced usually every year. If no parameter changes are necessary, you can even carry your spare lenses for the following year and you get a new replacement pair because we offer 6 control sessions in the first year and that reveals how your eyesight will respond to these lenses”, says Daniel Vogt.
