„My heart goes out to all victims of this horrible event“ said Martin Odom a loyal Texan and successful business man full of sorrow by the catastrophe in West Texas.
The website and the West Victims Fund were established by Odom as his way to give back to the community. At one point Odom and his children were homeless in Houston, with no help to be found. After months of hardship he came across a transitional living center that took his family in.
When the explosion in West happened, he knew he had to help just as he and his children had found help in the grace of strangers. it had helped my children and me. Unquestionably Odom knew that this donation fund would be the way for all of America to show support.
The West Victims Fund was established in order to financially assist the victims of the West, Texas explosion. This donation fund is not intended as a replacement for the Salvation Army or the Red Cross. West Victims Fund is designed solely to „fill the gaps“ in the recovery efforts, where national organizations are not able to provide assistance. The fund’s objectives are threefold; provide financial assistance to those who need immediate help such as with shelter, clothes, school supplies, beds, blankets; provide long-term financial assistance to the families of the fallen; and to provide financial support to the City of West victims now, that they can begin rebuilding their homes and most importantly, their lives.
