Fortsetzung im Jahr 2010: Wanderausstellung „Sonderzüge in den Tod“

Seit Ausstellungsstart bundesweit rund 150.000 Besucher (Berlin, 26. Januar 2010) Die Deutsche Bahn wird auch im Jahr 2010 ihre Wanderausstellung „Sonderzüge in den Tod – Die Deportationen mit der Deutschen Reichsbahn“ fortsetzen. Die Ausstellung wurde am 23. Januar 2008 in Berlin eröffnet und bundesweit auf Bahnhöfen, in Museen und kommunalen Einrichtungen gezeigt. Seit dem Ausstellungsstart wurden rund 150.000 Besucher gezählt.

Da für das Jahr 2010 viele Anfragen vorlagen, hat die Deutsche Bahn AG entschieden, die Wanderausstellung fortzuführen und den Interessenten kostenfrei zur Verfügung zu stellen. Am 27. Januar wird sie im Stadtmuseum Riesa gezeigt, das ein eigenes Veranstaltungsprogramm zur Ausstellung entwickelt hat. Danach wird die Ausstellung in Lübeck und fünf weiteren Orten zu sehen sein.

Die Ausstellung erinnert auf 40 Informationstafeln an die Verstrickungen der Deutschen Reichsbahn mit dem NS-Regime. Sie zeigt Einzelschicksale von Kindern, Frauen und Männern, die von ihren Heimat- und Fluchtorten in den Tod deportiert wurden. Überlebende schildern in Zeitzeugeninterviews die grauenvollen Zustände in den Zügen. Die fahrplanmäßige und betriebliche Durchführung der Transporte durch die Reichsbahn sowie die Verantwortlichkeiten in den Ministerien wird anhand von Dokumenten und Grafiken dargestellt.

Die Ausstellung über die Deportationen mit der Deutschen Reichsbahn wurde von den Historikern der DB in Kooperation mit dem Deutschen Technikmuseum Berlin und dem Berliner Centrum Judaicum erstellt. Serge und Beate Klarsfeld haben Bilder und Biografien jüdischer Kinder zusammengestellt, die aus Frankreich deportiert worden sind. Inzwischen ist auch eine gleichlautende Dokumentation zur Ausstellung im Böhlau Verlag erschienen und im Buchhandel erhältlich.

Release Adds New Deployment and Administration Functionality

Version 9.0 allows users to automate the deployment and updating of the software, their applications and any customizations from a central server. Remote sites automatically receive these and updates as they become available. The new release also ensures high availability at remote sites through redundant licensing, which improves system reliability and ensures business continuity.

Kofax Capture 9.0 also includes the capability to update, modify and revise specific aspects of a document batch class while processing is already in progress. This reduces the potential for exceptions that might later require time consuming and costly manual steps to correct. Additionally, specific document types within a document batch can now be routed to specific operators for specialized handling, thus accelerating processing times while lowering operator training costs.

Updated to support Microsoft Windows 7.0, the new release also includes a Microsoft Windows Installer (MSI) that enables enterprise customers to seamlessly deploy Kofax Capture using their standard software management and delivery tools.
